Base on the trailer, I still prefer Exteel, but I'm sure MR will be fun. Just not as much as Exteel. We have that human form that makes us cool. We can use swords and spears! xD

We also have bunch of latinos and I have a hunch that it will take them at least 6 months to find out about Metal Rage.

Also I've never played a Mech Warrior game but I thought the Mad Cat looked awesome as a kid. Does that count for anything?

I know about this game when i played "SD Gundam Online" and the banner show about new coming beta of Metal rage. When i instal game it look really nice but like some other post here, in Korean ver. you can't even play PvE or PvP mission due the lags.

After all i looking forwad to play NA ver.

They're supposedly releasing mw4 for free, on some of the larger fan sites, as a promotional thing for mw5.

As a note, I bought those games back when they were still floating around in walmart; but, have since misplaced my cds. I think they're back home (about 500km or so, away).

One first giant robot game's I played was MechWarrior 2: 31st Century Combat; and, as such, it holds a special place in my heart; but, MW4:Mercs is better especially with the mektek patches (shameless plug) xD

I think my favorite thing about mechwarrior is the shear amount of customization you can do. There's like hundreds of mechs and weapons. 3 different types of armor material to pick from and the ability to precisely control the amount and distribution of your armor.

There's usually around 3-4 different types of weapon slots on each mech with varying hardpoint locations: some mechs have tiny gun mounts that can only take machine guns or other small ballistic type weapons, or huge missile rack hardpoints that can only take missile type weapons (srm, mrm, lrm, csrm, ect.), where as, some have massive omni slots that can mount any of the largest heaviest weapons around.

You can strip the armor down on your mechs to mount larger weapons, add jumpjets and/or other special systems like probes, anti missile systems, advanced optics, advanced gyros, or like I tend to do, use smaller engines, dump auxilery systems, and make lumbering mobile weapons platforms xP

As a warning, you have to be careful when mounting mass amounts of lazers, flame throwers, ppc, and missile launcher type weapons. They generate a lot of heat and will likely have to be balanced out with heat sinks and each heat sink weighs a ton a unit. Or, you may find yourself spamming overide auto-shut down and wishing you had coolant to flush so you can get off that one last shot before shutting down for the last time.

Flame throwers turn enemy mechs into giant pressure cookers.

Also, the efficiency of your heatsinks is affected by the map and terrain. As in, if you want to really roll your friends in a lan game with that pulse lazer boat of a novacat of yours, take her out to sea. Water cooling works for giant robots just as good as it works for your desktop xP

Artic or winter type maps give you additional cooling efficacy, as well. The reverse is true for deserts. When in the scorching desert, bring uac's if you want to do long range combat and lbx's or machine guns if you want to get up close and personal.
